Founder and President
Dr. Suzanne K. Macy Marcy, Ph.D., CPC, CEF
Dr. Marcy brings an extraordinary combination of education, experience, training, and passion to her work. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology and the Biological Sciences at the University of Washington with a specialty in behavioral ecology, the study of the biological basis of behavior. From there her diverse and challenging life path led to her work as reflected in the three focus areas at Vibrance Institute. Early on in her career Dr. Marcy decided to leave the private sector and academia to follow her passion for the environment. Suzanne served as a senior scientist and leader in federal government, serving for over 26 years bringing together diverse entities to overcome conflict and create alignment for national and international environmental policy. During this time she also was the parent of an adopted child. She experienced first hand the joy, heartbreak, challenge, and utter exhaustion of rearing a child suffering from early childhood trauma; she moved beyond her education to learn the hard way as his key champion at home, at school and in the community. These experiences led to her own personal journey of transformation and an intensified appreciation for the value each one of us brings to the world, as well as the deep need we have to find and live our true purpose. She went on to become a Certified Performance Coach and Certified Experiential Facilitator through Resource Realizations, the premier coaching and facilitation academy in the United States. Below, her education and personal life pathway leading to each focus area is provided in greater detail.

Personal DevelopmentPersonal Excellence and True Life Purpose... Passion
Suzanne experienced challenges in interpersonal relationships throughout her life and wanted something better at work and at home. She wanted to build community and the deep connections she missed growing up. Then when she and her husband adopted their son it turned their worldview on personal grounding and parenting upside down. Capitalizing on her doctoral training in Psychology and the Biological Sciences, and her understanding of the neurological impact of early childhood trauma, she created a new personal and professional journey to help her son. In the process she transformed herself. Insight, Passion, Accountability...Fulfillment Suzanne knows that each of us has our own personal journey that includes early hurts that hinder us interpersonally and professionally. When she first read about emotional intelligence, she was disappointed to find that books did not include information on how to improve her own! So she began a journey to reclaim her own power through emergence and transformation work. She studied emotional intelligence through the Institute for Health and Human Potential. She has been a co-counselor for over 14 years, and attended and served as staff for Premier Seminars; she is a graduate of Discovery, Focus, Effective Communication, Styles of Communication, Being in Relationship and Values Based Living. She continued her journey by training and certifying as a Performance Coach and Experiential Facilitator through Resource Realizations to bring these opportunities to people everywhere. Drawing on her training in coaching, facilitation, emotional intelligence, the biological sciences and psychology, coupled with her life experiences, she brings an unequaled richness and power to her seminars and personal coaching. |

Total WellnessVitality, Wellness, Happiness...Joy
A key aspect of personal and professional success is personal vitality-the ability to sustain physical, emotional and intellectual demands with energy left to experience joy in life. When vitality is compromised it impacts every area of life. Suzanne found out the impact first hand when she was exposed to indoor air pollution in her home and office that resulted in multiple chemical sensitivity, chronic fatigue and a host of physical ailments from severe headaches, sore throat and arthritis, to mental confusion and flu-like symptoms that lasted for over two years. She was told by physicians that she could not be cured and offered drugs for symptom management-this would be her life. She refused that life and started her journey of personal healing. Drawing on her understanding of environmental toxicology as a scientist with EPA, and her academic and work experience in the biological sciences she took action by creating living and working space that was environmentally friendly. She began deep tissue cleansing, nutritional therapy and diet changes, coupled with her exercise regimen to heal her body. The result? She reclaimed her vitality and took on a new purpose and pathway to transform the lives of others who suffer chronic diseases, fatigue and the suite of ailments so common in our society today. |
